Essay on Childhood Obesity - 1000 Words
One of the biggest problems we currently face as a society is obesity. People all over the nation question why we are having this problem and who is responsible. Who do we turn to to educate our society so that we may address this problem the correct way? The answer: healthy eating habits and exercising should be taught early in a childs life. An excellent place to build these fitness foundations is where children spend almost a third of their time: at school. Physical education should be available for all kindergarten through twelfth-grade students in order to tackle the problems of obesity. The number of overweight youth has more than doubled in the past thirty years according to an article, Is Physical Education Becoming anâ⬠¦show more contentâ⬠¦Living in a society that demands external perfection, a child that is obese is more likely to encounter teasing from their peers. This ultimately may lead a child into psychosocial complications such as lack of self-esteem, social rejection, depression or anxiety. If a child was physically active, however, his or her body will take on a more pleasant physical appearance and thus increase a child?s self esteem. As a child is going through the stages of puberty, appearance begins to be a factor in their life. From middle school to high school, appearance and acceptance from peers is almost everything to an adolescent. Since looks become a factor around the middle school ages, shouldn?t we start teaching the importance of healthy eating and exercising habits at an early age? Not only will this hurt a child?s self-esteem, i t can also lead to dangerous physical problems. Many overweight people suffer from sleep apnea which is when one stops breathing in their sleep. If these people were not overweight, they would be able to clearly breathe at night. With all these benefits, it is apparent that schools should take a more assertive position on teaching physical education to all grades from kindergarten through twelfth grade. There are some arguments against teaching physical educations in the classrooms. Some argue that physical education should be taught at home and not at school. Marxism in the Grapes of Wrath Free Essays
In The Grapes of Wrath by John Steinbeck, Steinbeck uses Marxist ideals to plot the long struggle experienced by the Joad family. The Joadsââ¬â¢ experiences prove that the Bourgeoise abuse their power in order to control the Proletariats, alienating and exploiting their class to prevent revolution by forcing them to work for barely enough money. Families who had lived and worked on their land their whole lives became workless as the bank repossessed homes to sustain profit. We will write a custom essay sample on Marxism in the Grapes of Wrath or any similar topic only for you Order Now The bank had become a ââ¬Å"monsterâ⬠led by the Bourgeoise to exploit the families for their houses and jobs, leaving them with almost nothing. People were often forced to work with this monster in order to feed their own families, it was known for ââ¬Å"making people do what it wantsâ⬠(Steinbeck 34), despite who would be hurt in the process. This was a tool used to prevent the Proletariats from forming a union, because the ââ¬Å"bank isnââ¬â¢t like a manâ⬠(Steinbeck 33) and there was no person to punish for doing them wrong. Pushed off of their land, the families moved west where they were promised work and an easier life in return for having to give up their homes. The Bourgeoiseââ¬â¢s promises fell short as more and more families migrated west, minimizing the number of jobs and money available. Their pay was repeatedly cut, reducing it to too little to feed their families. Outside of working, the workers were kept from each other in order to prevent unity, the first step to a rebellion. This need to control stemmed from the Bourgeoiseââ¬â¢s extreme greed to keep their power and their money by taking away anybody elseââ¬â¢s. A divided nation is easier to control then one united. To avoid the consequences of unity, the police would ââ¬Å"make them fear, hate, suspect each otherâ⬠(Steinbeck 151). This growth of alienation among the lower class was the Bourgeoiseââ¬â¢s tool of exploitation to avoid rebellion against those of higher social status. The laws in the area were bias and only in place to benefit the Bourgeoise. If such a place of social equanimity existed, the local police forces tried to find ways to sabotage and abuse the area to break the forming union. Even when migrating from place to place, members of the Proletariat were unable to escape the greedy control of the Bourgeoise. They abused their powers of endless wealth and legal freedom to maintain their high status at the expense of those who occupied the poorer classes. How to cite Marxism in the Grapes of Wrath, Papers

A Contrast Of A Valediction Forbidding Mourning Essay Example For Students
A Contrast Of A Valediction: Forbidding Mourning Essay A Contrast Of A Valediction: Forbidding Mourning, And To His CoyThe stereotype of poetry is that poems are written to exemplify a relationship between two people who are so infatuated with each other it is said that they are in love and this can give meaning to what is commonly referred to as a love poem. Poets John Donne and Andrew Marvell write such poetry however, their poems A Valediction: Forbidding Mourning, and To His Coy Mistress, consider two different concepts. Although they are addressing love, they are dealing with different aspects of it. The two poems can be contrasted in form, poetic devices such as symbols, tone, rhyme, and the rhythmical pattern. Symbols and tone can often encourage the reader to look for underlying mental representations that will connect them to the text to put different elements like the mood of the writer or hidden motives into perspective. The form and rhyme scheme can be applied to the person the poem is addressing, and when analyzed further, it can determine unconscious feelings and meanings that may be expressed by the writer. When using a certain rhythmical pattern, the writer can point out exactly how he feels about his subject. Donnes poem is in stanzaic form and the rhyming scheme is ABAB, CDCD, etc. In lines one through four, As virtuous men pass mildly away, / The breath goes now, and some say, no, the rhyming words: away, go, say, and no because of the repetition of sounds can already make the reader feel bored. The words themselves can also reflect a negative feeling of being unwanted. These bland, organized sentences and the rhyme patterns show the speakers unattached attitude, and take away from the excitement of the subject of love. Marvells poem uses continuous rhyming couplets to illustrate loves unconventional and irrational aspects, as love usually is. They take two separate lines and make a matching pair out of them.Often he uses words that can symbolize togetherness like all and ball as he writes:Let us roll all our strength and allOur sweetness up into one ballAnd tear our pleasures with rough strife,Thorough the iron gates of life. (41-44)This rhyme scheme can make a relation to two people, a couple, joining together. Donne uses symbols pertaining to natural phenomena like air and water, and the use of the circle is a prevalent shape throughout the poem. The circle symbolizes their souls. The mans and the womans lives together are represented in a never-ending cycle. When they leave each other, all they have done is changed that circle. Movement in a circle is continuous which is expressed when he writes Thy firmness makes my circle just, And makes me end, where I begun (35-36). If two people truly belong together, the union of their souls is still together, just as the circle always remains connected. The natural phenomena used such as Tear floods and sigh-tempests (6), suggest air and water. These examples present the use of a hyperbole that Donne uses to tell his lover not to show any emotion when he leaves. A tearing flood would be one where there are uncontrollable, gushing tears falling from her eyes, and the sighing tempests would present a lot of drawn out complaining. The speaker denotes that like natural phenomena occurring, it is natural for two bodies to be apart and should not occur with a lot of commotion. Marvell uses geological and astronomical images like the water, desert, ashes, and solar powers. An example of this would be when he states: I would love you ten years before the floodconversion of the Jews (8-10). The referral to the flood of the Ganges River as well as the converting of the Jewish people to the Christian religion mean that it could be centuries of waiting if they waited because of religious reasons. The phrase Deserts of vast eternity (24) give emphasis to his mistress drying up much like a desert if she is hesitant much longer. He uses into ashes all my lust (30), to show that much like her desert, his lust will dry up and turn to ashes. Geological and astronomical images are to make the assumption that nature is spontaneous, and humans should be as well. In To His Coy Mistress Marvell uses physical image, to aid the speakers argument to convince his mistress to yield to him. He is writing this poem to seduce his coy mistress to have sex with him. When he tells he r Now let us sport us while me may (37), the speaker is telling his mistress that they should do as they please. When he writes and now, like amorous birds of prey, rather at once our time devour than languish in his slow-chapped power (38-40), he means we should act now before it is too late. This brings to light the element of carpe diem, or seize the day that seems to be Marvells whole message in this poem. .u01226ac26a0d604868fcc2d8dbe96fcf , .u01226ac26a0d604868fcc2d8dbe96fcf .postImageUrl , .u01226ac26a0d604868fcc2d8dbe96fcf .centered-text-area { min-height: 80px; position: relative; } .u01226ac26a0d604868fcc2d8dbe96fcf , .u01226ac26a0d604868fcc2d8dbe96fcf:hover , .u01226ac26a0d604868fcc2d8dbe96fcf:visited , .u01226ac26a0d604868fcc2d8dbe96fcf:active { border:0!important; } .u01226ac26a0d604868fcc2d8dbe96fcf .clearfix:after { content: ""; display: table; clear: both; } .u01226ac26a0d604868fcc2d8dbe96fcf { display: block; transition: background-color 250ms; webkit-transition: background-color 250ms; width: 100%; opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; background-color: #95A5A6; } .u01226ac26a0d604868fcc2d8dbe96fcf:active , .u01226ac26a0d604868fcc2d8dbe96fcf:hover { opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; background-color: #2C3E50; } .u01226ac26a0d604868fcc2d8dbe96fcf .centered-text-area { width: 100%; position: relative ; } .u01226ac26a0d604868fcc2d8dbe96fcf .ctaText { border-bottom: 0 solid #fff; color: #2980B9; font-size: 16px; font-weight: bold; margin: 0; padding: 0; text-decoration: underline; } .u01226ac26a0d604868fcc2d8dbe96fcf .postTitle { color: #FFFFFF; font-size: 16px; font-weight: 600; margin: 0; padding: 0; width: 100%; } .u01226ac26a0d604868fcc2d8dbe96fcf .ctaButton { background-color: #7F8C8D!important; color: #2980B9; border: none; border-radius: 3px; box-shadow: none; font-size: 14px; font-weight: bold; line-height: 26px; moz-border-radius: 3px; text-align: center; text-decoration: none; text-shadow: none; width: 80px; min-height: 80px; background: url(https://artscolumbia.org/wp-content/plugins/intelly-related-posts/assets/images/simple-arrow.png)no-repeat; position: absolute; right: 0; top: 0; } .u01226ac26a0d604868fcc2d8dbe96fcf:hover .ctaButton { background-color: #34495E!important; } .u01226ac26a0d604868fcc2d8dbe96fcf .centered-text { display: table; height: 80px; padding-left : 18px; top: 0; } .u01226ac26a0d604868fcc2d8dbe96fcf .u01226ac26a0d604868fcc2d8dbe96fcf-content { display: table-cell; margin: 0; padding: 0; padding-right: 108px; position: relative; vertical-align: middle; width: 100%; } .u01226ac26a0d604868fcc2d8dbe96fcf:after { content: ""; display: block; clear: both; } READ: Modern Education: Changing for the Future Essay ThesisIt is an argument to convince her to give up her virginity while she is still young and beautiful. Marvell writes specifically to the object of his desire. This one-on-one context suggests to the reader that he is writing directly to her in hopes of convincing her to his whim. To enforce his argument Marvell uses a pleading tone. The tone in Donnes poem seems to be rather depressing, such as one would use when separating. The poem also is not addressing its subject, the woman, directly. The concept of indirectness points to the authors lack of emotion. He is remaining emotionless and indifferent to avoid any confrontati on from her. He wants their separation to be as quick and as painless as possible. Since these two poems deal with completely different aspects of love, they must have been written differently. Their different forms can be analyzed to get the individual interpretation of meaning to be gathered from each. They both come across differently to the reader. One poem is about sexual love and the other poem is about the end of love. This just shows that not all love poems are about falling in love. When a person hears the phrase: love poem, he naturally thinks that it will be about a love smitten male or female. These two poems just prove that there are many aspects of love that are not necessarily about falling in love. Love poems can also be about separating from our loved one or even about giving in to lust and temptation. From this the reader learns that there are more definitions to a love poem than originally thought.

Jasper leaped up and grabbed the eaves outside Bellaââ¬â¢s window. He turned on his comforting vibraphones. Donââ¬â¢t concern. Bella. Weââ¬â¢ll get him place in plentifulness of clip. Jasper? What do lamias make for unmarried man parties? Youââ¬â¢re non taking him to a strip nine. are you? she whispered to Jasper and I had to smile. As if that would be merriment for me! No adult female had of all time affected me like Bella did. Womans could dunk themselves in blood and parade around bare all twenty-four hours and it wouldnââ¬â¢t make a thing for me. I should knowâ⬠¦Tanya had tried such fast ones many times to acquire me into her bed. Donââ¬â¢t tell her anything! Emmett hissed at Jasper. gaining himself a friendly forearm shove that knocked him to the groundâ⬠¦again. I could neer crush Emmett if we fought strength to strength. but with my mind-reading accomplishment. he seldom got in a good clout. I laughed at his look as he stood up and brushed the grass off his denims. He tried to look insouciant as he readied himself for a surprise countermove. Merely as he launched himself at me. I took off running. cognizing he couldnââ¬â¢t catch me at full velocity. Relax. I heard Jasper answer to Bella. We Cullens have our ain version. Just a few mountain king of beastss. a twosome of silvertip bears. Reasonably much an ordinary dark out. Jasper had told Bella the truth. We would be observing our boysââ¬â¢ dark out with a Hunt. I didnââ¬â¢t need the blood at the minute. but it was still a good thought. If I fed now. so I wouldnââ¬â¢t have to go forth Bella to run for the first two hebdomads of our honeymoon. Besides. I merely had one more twenty-four hours to stay chaste until Bella and I were married. I did non desire to slip-up at this late dateââ¬âgetting out of Bellaââ¬â¢s bed would do that a whole batch easier. Runing gave me clip to believe about the last twosome of months. As my fiance . Bella had accepted the black recognition card with her name on it attached to my history. Like the cell phone. Iââ¬â¢d presented it as a safety safeguard. but sheââ¬â¢d started to utilize it for other things excessively. and that had been the point. Bella had quit her occupation at Newtons Olympic Outfitters. so she didnââ¬â¢t have any pocket money to talk of. I was glad that sheââ¬â¢d quit. I preferred non giving Mike Newton the chance to goggle at and entertain lubricious ideas about my bride-to-be as was his wont. Besides. I was happy that we could pass more clip together. I didnââ¬â¢t have to portion with her company for the three or four yearss a hebdomad she would hold worked for what I considered to be trim alteration. Unless she truly liked the jobââ¬âand I knew that she didnââ¬â¢tââ¬âI saw no point in giving our clip together. It had been a great summer. The lone little comedown had been the father-in-law talk Charlie had initiated with me. I havenââ¬â¢t encountered many people who could surprise me in the last 80 old ages. but Charlie was one who could. His head was so quietââ¬âin the sense of comparatively impenetrable to meââ¬âthat while I could comprehend his feelings. I frequently couldnââ¬â¢t hear the interior duologue that went with them. I didnââ¬â¢t like the sense of insecurity it gave me non cognizing what he was believing. I was used to holding more clip to see how to respond to people than I of all time had with Charlie. One flushing five hebdomads earlier. Charlie had grabbed my arm as Bella and I were go forthing his house for the eventide. Weââ¬â¢d found a figure of private parking musca volitanss around the country and we liked to see them every bit frequently as possible. Because heââ¬â¢d surprised me. I reflexively yanked my arm out of his clasp at my natural strength. Immediately. heââ¬â¢d put both thenars up every bit if he was give uping. Heââ¬â¢d misguided my speedy physiological reaction as a mark of choler. The interaction reminded me of the telecasting show Cops. in which hooligans whirl around and plug an sensational constabulary officer merely on rule. Charlie must acquire that a batch. I rapidly raised my thenars to bespeak a common resignation. I would hold smiled if I hadnââ¬â¢t thought Charlie would construe it as a twit. Bella had missed our interaction and was go oning toward the auto. What can I make for you. Charlie? I inquired courteously. I was merely inquiring what your folks think about you suggesting to my girl. Oh. they love her. they truly do. Thatââ¬â¢s non precisely what I meant. No? I wasnââ¬â¢t traveling to assist him interrogate me. Noâ⬠¦uhâ⬠¦I meant what do they believe of you acquiring married right out of high school? Oh! Well. you know they got married rather immature themselves. Esme already had Jasper and Rosalie to look after when she met Carlisle. They fell in love and Carlisle wanted to assist back up the childs. so he proposed when Esme was younger than he might hold otherwise. Theyââ¬â¢ve been highly happy. so they donââ¬â¢t have any bias against acquiring married immature. Do you think youââ¬â¢re old plenty to manage this sort of duty? Thatââ¬â¢s my girl youââ¬â¢re assuring to back up for the remainder of your life. Are you one hundred per centum sure that youââ¬â¢re ready for that? I will be at that place for Bella. I can guarantee you of that. What if you screw it up and things fall apart? Charlie pressed. I thought about that for a minute before replying. I knew what he was mentioning to without holding to read his ideas. There are many ways I could mess things up. I admitted. Iââ¬â¢ve already made errors with Bella. I know that. I wasnââ¬â¢t here for her when she needed me. I swear to you. Charlie. I left because I wanted Bella to hold a opportunity to happen person better than me. But I found that I couldnââ¬â¢t unrecorded without her and so I came back. Jacob might be a better pick for her. but she still wants me and every bit long as she does. I wonââ¬â¢t leave her. I donââ¬â¢t make the same errors twice. Charlie merely gave me his dark-eyed. policemanââ¬â¢s stare. I didnââ¬â¢t blasted him. Heââ¬â¢d watched Bella suffer daily after I abandoned her. Jacob had impressed upon me all the painful inside informations he could cite about that clip. Jacobââ¬â¢s a good immature adult male. Charli e eventually responded. but I wouldnââ¬â¢t want him get marrieding her at his age. either. I took another minute to see my response. and so sighed. cognizing Iââ¬â¢d neer convince him with words. The lone manner to cognize whether Iââ¬â¢ll be good for Bella is with clip. I canââ¬â¢t offer you proof. but I love her more than my ain life and I will take attention of her. Charlie. I merely hope that I can do her every bit happy as she makes me. though I barely think itââ¬â¢s possible. Charlieââ¬â¢s stare didnââ¬â¢t alteration. so I continued. If it makes you feel any better. my household is behind us. and you know Carlisle good plenty to cognize that he would neer allow Bella downâ⬠¦even if I did. My household would step in for me. Thatââ¬â¢s merely the manner my parents are. Theyââ¬â¢re great people. I know they areâ⬠¦Edward. I trust Carlisle and thatââ¬â¢s why Iââ¬â¢m non doing more of a dither about this. I acknowledged his statement with a nod. Just so you know. Charlieâ⬠¦Bella and I discussed run offing to Las Vegas and get ma rrieding without stating anyone. But Bella didnââ¬â¢t want to cut you out of her determination in that manner. so we decided to do it a household event. I knew there was something traveling on! Charlie exclaimed. I had a feeling you two were traveling to take off together! Bella wants you at that place to walk her down the aisle. or the stepss. instead. I hope you can see your manner clear to make that for her on her twenty-four hours. Charlie nodded stiffly and I turned to follow Bella to the auto. Thatââ¬â¢s a fancy auto you got my girl. Yes. itââ¬â¢s a lender. Carlisle called in a favour for me. Itââ¬â¢s a really safe auto. Well. thatââ¬â¢s good. You can barely acquire a auto thatââ¬â¢s safe plenty to portion the roads with all the bad drivers and rummy drivers out at that place. I agree. Goodnight. Charlie. ââ¬â¢Night. Charlie shut the front door and I saw that Bella was coming back to acquire me. I hurried toward her. What was all that approximately? Charlie wanted to hold a small man-to-manââ¬â¢ talk about his cherished girl. but I told him I agreed with everything he said. so he loves me now. I grinned and winked at Bella. She didnââ¬â¢t purchase it. No. what did he truly desire? she demanded. Tell me. or Iââ¬â¢ll March right back and inquire him! I sighed. Charlie merely wanted to warn me about the dangers of get marrieding excessively immature and do certain I was cognize what I was making. What did you state? I said that I was old for my age. I replied. giving her a crooked smiling. You did non! Sure. why non? I am. arenââ¬â¢t I? I teased. Ancient. I should be grossed out being with you. Fortunately. I still look good and thatââ¬â¢s what truly counts. We both laughed and. to my alleviation. Bella dropped the topic. Bellaââ¬â¢s female parent. Renee. had flown in two yearss earlier and Bella was lodging near to her except when our female parents worked on the nuptials. It was uneven behaviour for a bride-to-be. but I wasnââ¬â¢t get marrieding Bella because she was like everyone else. Quite the antonym. When Iââ¬â¢d come place two eventides old. Renee was sing Esme. In an effort to show her credence of me as her about son-in-law. Renee had dashed across the life room and thrown her weaponries around my cervix. Welcome to our household. Edward! sheââ¬â¢d said. I thought possibly she was overexcited by the trip or by run intoing my household. I hadnââ¬â¢t expected such an ebullient salutation. though she had no peculiar scruples about Bella get marrieding me. Renee ended the clinch suddenly when her weaponries encountered my cold. difficult ego. Hmm. she mumbled as she broke off contact. Hard organic structure! was her idea. and I about laughed out loud. The image in her head was co mplimentary. non actual. She was conceive ofing what my upper organic structure looked like without a shirt. Iââ¬â¢d already gotten acquainted plenty with Renee when Bella and I went to Florida that I knew she didnââ¬â¢t average anything by it. A cougarâ⬠¦just like Bella. I thought. and smiled to myself. It was a small sad to run into Renee once more. cognizing that this was the last clip Bella would see her. or perchance even talk to her on the phone. As I watched Bella over the class of the two yearss. I sensed that she was stating her adieus. If Iââ¬â¢d had to give up Carlisle and Esme to be with Bella. I could hold done it. I had given them up one time earlier. But it was difficult to accept that I could do Bella happy plenty to give up seeing her parents. Iââ¬â¢d asked her once more last dark whether she was prepared to make that and her response had been. Are you seeking to ditch me? Then weââ¬â¢d started express joying and the inquiry had gotten lost. My brothers and I didnââ¬â¢t acquire back from runing until a twosome of hours before the nuptials. Esme collared us instantly and sent us to the back garden to hang flower Garlands for Alice. It had to be done at the last minute or the August twenty-four hours would wilt them. Alice had prohibited me from traveling anyplace near where she was fixing Bella. so I headed to my third-floor room to do myself presentable. Alice had changed my antique dinner jacket merely plenty to change over it from vintage to vintage smart. as she put it. It did look good. I had to acknowledge. I tried to tidy my usually boisterous hair. I put some hair gel on it and convinced it to lie down in a semi-orderly manner. After a clip. Jasper came upstairs to state me that the first invitees were geting. He and Emmett would be showing them to their seats. Of class. Jasper could hold told me that from downstairs. but Alice had specifically asked him to come acquire me. so that I wouldnââ¬â¢t be exhibiting down the brideââ¬â¢s decorated stairway in full position of the invitees. I walked outdoors through the kitchen door. stating Carlisle that Iââ¬â¢d be waiting out back. He and Esme were standing by the front door to recognize everyone as they arrived. This was the most of import twenty-four hours of my life. but I hoped to hold boundlessly more fantastic yearss to bask with my Bella. I felt extremely fortunate that she wanted me as I wanted her. I could hold lost her so easy. I heard the Denali kin arrive and recognized Tanyaââ¬â¢s mental voice: Whereââ¬â¢s Edward? It will be good to see that adult male againâ⬠¦mmm hmm! Who is this human miss? I canââ¬â¢t imagine Edward with a adult female. non even a lamia adult female. This will be interestingâ⬠¦ I smiled. sword lily to be get awaying Tanyaââ¬â¢s clasps for good. Sheââ¬â¢d given me a difficult clip when we were populating in Alaska. She wasnââ¬â¢t used to being told no thank you. Neither lamias nor worlds of all time turned down Tanyaââ¬â¢s progresss. She was beautiful and capturing. everything a adult male could desire. She merely wasnââ¬â¢t for me and she neer could accept that. It was one of the grounds Carlisle decided to travel our household further south. He told everyone that we were excessively conspicuous and possibly we were. all there together. but Iââ¬â¢d had the opportunity to hear another ground in his mindââ¬âthat Tanya canââ¬â¢t leave Edward ent irely. My male parent empathized when Tanya had set her sights on me. Carlisle had had plentifulness of pushful supporters. During his first few hebdomads at a new infirmary. nurses would line up three deep to ogle him. He had to anneal that initial involvement by stating some figure of them that he was merrily married. thank you. Of class. he wore a nuptials ring. but that didnââ¬â¢t discourage everyone. Once people met Esme. though. they normally stopped trailing Carlisle. She was merely excessively beautiful. interior and out. to vie with. I know Esme had ever worried that I wasnââ¬â¢t to the full mature as a adult male when Carlisle had changed me and that I might neer happen. or even wish for. a mate. It was true that I wasnââ¬â¢t interested in any of the Denali ladies. And after the problem Iââ¬â¢d had with Rosalie when she joined our household. I didnââ¬â¢t expect anything good could come of such involvement anyhow. When the Denalis met the lone unmarried man lamia theyââ¬â¢d seen in old ages. each of them had set about seeking my fondness. I didnââ¬â¢t fault them. peculiarly. Possibly theyââ¬â¢d gotten tired of human work forces and wanted person more lasting to spouse with for a alteration. I could understand that to a certain grade. I didnââ¬â¢t travel indoors to recognize the Denalis or any of the other reachings. I couldnââ¬â¢t concentrate on anyone but Bellaââ¬âit seemed like such a long clip since Iââ¬â¢d seen her. I was seeking to ground myself out of an irrational fright that she wasnââ¬â¢t truly at that place in our house. that she had changed her head and would go forth me standing entirely at the communion table. If I listened. I could hear her voice now and so. but I couldnââ¬â¢t hear her ideas and that had neer bothered me so much as it did at that minute. To deflect myself. I listened at random to our guestsââ¬â¢ ideas and found that everyone was astonished by the ornaments. Alice had put her all into be aftering this nuptials and it showed. The flowers entirely were beyond conceive ofing. Finely fragrant agreements covered every surface of our life room and the response country outside. Alice was peculiarly fond of flowers. I thought possibly it was because sheââ¬â¢d been deprived of beauty for so many old ages at the refuge. Whatever the ground. it was a blessing for us all. Rosalie had started playing my expansive piano. doing the one instrument sound like several. I knew that Pachelbelââ¬â¢s Canon in D was my cue to come in the life room with Carlisle and stand in forepart of the flower-covered archway. He would come looking for me in the kitchen when the clip came. so I walked back into the house. In due class. Carlisle came to recover me and after a concluding. heartfelt clinch. we took our assigned topographic points in forepart of the assembled crowd. I stood. frozen with emotion. and watched uneasily for my beloved to look at the top of the steps on her fatherââ¬â¢s arm. I had waited a life-time to stand in forepart of these informants and declare my deathless devotedness to the 1 and merely adult female I would of all time love. Time had stopped doing sense when I eventually heard the familiar C-F-F-F notes of Here Comes the Bride. I could non believe my eyes when an angel from heaven began to fall the steps. one by one. her eyes lowered to watch her pess. It was merely when I heard her whisper Donââ¬â¢t allow me fall. Dad. that I knew for certain it was Bellaâ⬠¦my Bella. I fretted for a 2nd that my angel might fall and I readied myself to dart across the room to c atch her. Sing the groom disappear and re-emerge someplace else would non travel over good with anybody. though I reasoned that all of the invitees would be looking at Bella. non at me. Still. possibly we should hold served bubbly before the ceremonial. merely in instance something like that did happenâ⬠¦but so. Bella was falling the concluding measure. She lifted her face. seeking for me. When our eyes eventually met. a expression of such arrant joy crossed her face that I broke into an enraptured smiling. Bellaââ¬â¢s feelings frequently were written on her face. but today her look was utterly transparent. The worship in her eyes was unmistakable and I was exultant plenty to interrupt out in songâ⬠¦almost. Our eyes remained pasted to each other while Bella carefully traversed the fifteen-foot aisle that Alice had kept short to give Bella a just opportunity of staying unsloped. With the manner she looked in that frock. with that make-up. with everythingâ⬠¦the freshness. the vermilion bloom. the prisms of cryings in her eyesâ⬠¦I wanted to hotfoot down the aisle to run into her and transport her dorsum to the communion table. But I remained patient. stretching out my thenar so that Charlie could put Bellaââ¬â¢s manus in mine. He regarded me earnestly as he did so and I nodded my thank you to him for his great forfeit. Charlie seated himself beside Renee. with Phil on her other side. and Bella and I turned to confront the curate. I loved the traditional nuptials ceremonial with its promises and dictums. but on this juncture. each word resonated with freshly unveiled significance. When I declared I do to my beloved. Iââ¬â¢d neer been happier in my life. I wanted to reiterate the words in every linguistic communication I knew. My lovely new married woman was overcome with emotion. When I leaned over to snog her for the first clip as her hubby. Bell aââ¬â¢s weaponries encircled my cervix and she held on as if she would neer allow me travel. The audience had disappearedââ¬âshe merely had eyes for me. I kissed her with a crestless wave of love and tenderness that made my eyes burn with the cryings that didnââ¬â¢t come. and she met my passion with her ain. Emotion poured from her as she clung to me. melding her lips with mine as if we were absolutely entirely in that minute. I did non mind in the least. Bella was happy to be married to meââ¬âI could experience it in my castanetss. When the invitees began to giggle. I eased my loveââ¬â¢s face gently off from mine and looked into her tear-filled eyes. I felt my felicity radiate from me like the heat of a coal fire and I wondered briefly if my tegument was scintillating in its freshness. When Emmett cleared his pharynx unsubtly. I turned us both to confront the loved 1s who had gathered at that place and everyone broke into smilings and quiet laughter. I could non allow travel of Bella for a 2nd. I wrapped my arm around her waist and practically carried her down the aisle when she forgot to travel her pess. Fortunately. they were hidden by the length of her frock. Another item that Alice had non overlooked. Bella was so spectacularly beautiful that I wasnââ¬â¢t surprised to hear a figure of inappropriate ideas as the response line shuffled easy past us and on to the counter. Alice had timed things good. so that the lamias would non hold to step outdoors until dusky. merely in instance the Sun came out. It was good that she did. because we had a beautiful nuptials twenty-four hours with plentifulness of sunlight filtering through the ancient cedars. I was inordinately pleased that Billy Black and Sue and Seth Clearwater had come to the nuptials. Despite the Cullensââ¬â¢ functionary position as mortal enemies of their folk. the three of them were at that place in support of Bella and Charlie. and possibly as a gesture of gratitude to Carlisle every bit good. Seth was there for me. excessively. Our friendly relationship had non faded since weââ¬â¢d joined forces to conflict Victoria and Riley. Congrats. cats. Seth said. coming toward me with his weaponries out. I hugged him with one arm while I held Bella tightly with the other. Itââ¬â¢s good to see things work out for you. adult male. Iââ¬â¢m happy for you. Thank you. Seth. That means a batch to me. Let go ofing Seth. I faced Billy and Sue with honorable gratitude. I knew they were non at that place for me. Thank you. every bit good. For allowing Seth semen. For back uping Bella today. Youââ¬â¢re welcome. Billy replied heartily and I hoped his attitude boded good for the alteration that was coming. I didnââ¬â¢t cognize how I was traveling to near the Quileute wolf battalion about Bellaââ¬â¢s approaching transmutation. It was possible that if we left the country to avoid their ancient blood feud. that Jacob still would come to run us down. He had no motive to allow me alter Bella. but I hoped that he and all the wolves would hold to the one exclusion to our pact. Billy wasnââ¬â¢t giving anything off with his ideas. but Sueââ¬â¢s head was full of concern about being in a house with so many lamias. As the receiving line moved along. the lone somewhat awkward minute was presenting Tanya to Bella. Ah. Edward. Iââ¬â¢ve missed you. Tanya said. drawing herself near to me in an intimate embracing. She lingered a spot excessively long in my one-armed hugââ¬âon intent. I chuckled at her audaciousness as I employed one of Carlisleââ¬â¢s fast ones for covering with forward womenâ⬠¦to imperativeness her shoulder off as if to look up to the full length of her. Itââ¬â¢s been excessively long. Tanya. You look good. Though Bella would neer believe it. her beauty outshone Tanyaââ¬â¢s many times over in my eyes. So do you. Tanya replied. a familiar note of yearning in her voice. With a great puffiness of pride. I interjected. Let me present you to my married woman. Kate and Carmen giggled at the accent. My joy at utilizing that word for the first clip American ginseng in my words. Tanya. this is my Bella. Bella had been unsure about ask foring Tanya and her coven. but Iââ¬â¢d convinced her that as drawn-out familyââ¬âorphans. to bootââ¬âthey must be included. I besides wanted Tanya there specifically to underline the point that I was officially and for good unavailable. Welcome to the household. Bella. Tanya responded suitably. if non wholly enthusiastically. We consider ourselves Carlisleââ¬â¢s extended household. and I am regretful about the. Er. recent incident when we did non act as such. We should hold met you sooner. Can you forgive us? Of class. Itââ¬â¢s so nice to run into you. Bella replied. blushing. I noted the brief flair of exhilaration among my cousins at the haste of blood before each of them contained it. The Cullens are all evened up in Numberss now. Possibly it will be our bend following. eh. Kate? Tanya grinned. Kateââ¬â¢s sarcastic sense of wit kicked in. Keep the dream alive. she said. turn overing her eyes. Welcome. Bella. Kate took Bellaââ¬â¢s manus and Carmen stepped up to add hers. Iââ¬â¢m Carmen. this is Eleazar. Weââ¬â¢re all so really pleased to eventually run into you. M-me. excessively. Bella stuttered. I thought she was keeping up good sing she was run intoing my relatives for the first clip. Weââ¬â¢ll get to cognize each other subsequently. Weââ¬â¢ll have eons of clip for that! Tanya remarked. express joying. I enjoyed executing the rites of the nuptials jubilation. Alice had ordered a gorgeous. artfully decorated bar. its beauty being the lone facet of it I could genuinely appreciate. I did non enjoy get downing the chunky blob Bella pushed toward my face. but that could non be avoided with such an attentive audience. Flashbulbs popped. capturing the uncomfortable minute for all clip. Bella tossed her corsage to Angela. who blushed puce and carefully avoided the eyes of her bodyguard. Ben. which are six inches lower than her ain. When it came clip to raise Bellaââ¬â¢s skirt and take her supporter with my dentitions. she blushed heatedly while Jasper and Emmett guffawed at her embarrassment. I wasnââ¬â¢t allowed to venture excessively far up her frock. since she slid the supporter below her articulatio genus before I got the opportunity. Still. it was a fun minute. seize with teething the elastic set and dragging it easy down her calf. After detaching it from her leg. I stretched the elastic into a catapult. taking for Mike Newtonââ¬â¢s caput. The supporter snapped him in the brow and his oral cavity dropped unfastened.

Business Ethics Current Event Example
Business Ethics Current Event Example Business Ethics Current Event ââ¬â Article Example Business Ethics Current Event Fraudââ¬â¢s Triangle of motivation communicates an unshareable need, which arises withinan individualââ¬â¢s life. It has been argued that this one of the areas of the Fraudââ¬â¢s triangle that an organization has least, if any, control over as well as being the most difficult to access and offer. This need can arise from a wide range of things from ordinary and common life issues to ones that are more nefarious. With increases in that need in an individual, the risk of the person acting in contrary to an organizations policies and code of ethics also increases. The problem with the motivation factor in the Fraudââ¬â¢s triangle results from the need perceived by employees as being unshareable. In recent times, such things as changes in finance terms can cause embarrassment and prevent an employee from sharing their hardships with their employers. There are varieties of things that can motivate people to violate ethics policies or commit fraud. Such include, a corporate controller taking part in an extra-marital affair, sales representatives being affected and infected with AIDS, sales person being addicted to heroin and a chief operating officer being blackmailed among others. Depending on the laws as well as policies within an organization, email and internet use could be monitored, which could bring issues that could affect a personââ¬â¢s motivation. Another way that motivation factors can be monitored is through those employees with supervisory responsibilities receiving training about the Fraud Triangle. This helps raise supervisory awareness for the commitment of fraud for an organization to address the problem. Consideration of the Fraud Triangleââ¬â¢s motivation factor is also important in helping an organization prioritize identified compliance risks. Work citedHanson, John. Homework - Assignment Example The professor is still new to the U.S environment and serves as the advisor to the lesbian and gay bisexual transgender movement in campuses (Loffreda, 231). Worth noting is that she is an outsider and an insider in these events. She is quite observant and contacts an interview to the police officers, students, politicians, townspeople and activists among other people. She does this with the aim of making untying the knot of forces that is tied to the fate of the young man more visible. Furthermore, the author explores how the sexual politics unfolds in a sparsely and remote area in America. During this time the sexual politics was very common in the American culture war. She captures the daily life occurrences since 1998 in Laramie (Loffreda, 238). She does this in a more brilliant manner which occurred in Wyoming. This was a community that lived in a rural, conservative, poor and a breathtaking beautiful state which did not have a bookstore or a gay. She also focuses on several characters which include gays, homicide investigators, gay activists, the unreflective journalists in the media houses, and the appearance of Mary, Paul, and Peter. In addition, Loffreda goes through a series of events (226). She starts with the protests of the townspeople and the students against the gays. They rise above the famous anti-gay theatrics of the defrocked Fred Phelp towards the spontaneous support to matt during the homecoming parade in the university. In addition, the bias by the town council on legislation to trace evidence by the investigators is also analyzed. The book does not just look into this but also focuses on other events. She recounts on the death of matt and most surprising stories which were left out in the media

What is Text Analysis Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1000 words
What is Text Analysis - Essay Example This piece of text is a narrative of a peaceful afternoon spent at the beach. We can classify it as a narrative because it meets the following criteria: ââ¬Å"the main purpose of a narrative text is to tell a storyâ⬠(Moss, 2004). Therefore, we can comfortably call this piece a narration (PBWorks, 2007). The important question that I seek to answer in this analysis of the interplay between form and content is how well the narrative techniques employed by the writer complement the ideas conveyed. In my opinion, the relationship between form and content in this piece is strong which makes it aesthetically pleasing and easy to read (Pasold, 2008). The text begins with details about the surroundings: ââ¬Å"The sunââ¬â¢s rays sparkled on the water and a cool breeze swept across my bodyâ⬠; these details and how they are expressed by a choice of simple yet vivid words infuse a mellow mood to the whole setting and this mood can be seen to dominate the entire string of details that follows. The entire text is dedicated to an account of the authorââ¬â¢s activities while he was relaxing at the beach (probably spending some time alone while his fellows were inside the hotel) and indulging himself in the pleasures of good food. His statement that ââ¬Å"this proved to be the most magical feast I had ever tucked intoâ⬠wholly complements the mood that he created with the graphic details of his serene surroundings at the beginning of the paragraph. The paragraph ends on a sullen note which is seen as contrasting from the overall mood of the text. It expresses the disappointment of the narrator at not being able to enjoy such solitude for long because the time for tea with fellow achievers wasà approaching. His statement with which he ends this account- ââ¬Ëlife is hardââ¬â¢ ââ¬â diffuses a feeling of nostalgia and grimness.

Governments Crime Strategy - Essay Example These programs only started when people started to realize that arrest and punishment was not the only way out of crimes because punishment can only be awarded when a person has already committed a crime. To cut off the roots of crime it is essential to stop the crime from being committed and this is what exactly the motive of these programs is. One such program launched by the government on 29th November 1999 is set to tackle all the problems suffered by the general public. The new Crime Reduction Strategy set out by the government is set to remove all the problems of crime happening in the UK. Different approaches of handling crime are given out by this strategy which is aimed at lowering the crime rates in accordance to their level. Furthermore this strategy is bound to apply to all the major departments in which the crime rate is high. The major point of this strategy is that the government is also urging the local authorities to help them in curbing the crime. This strategy has been well thought and researched, however on the contrary loopholes can still be viewed in the government's policy. This essay would further describe the short comings of the strategy with accordance to its implementations and approaches. The Governments Crime Reduction Strategy aims to reduce all the crime happenings in the UK. To do this firstly they aim to raise the performance of the police and Crime & Disorder reduction partnership. The policy has set out particular points and invested a hefty amount of budget to bring up the forces together. However in my view the problem with raising the performance is that proper research has not be done in regard to both these units. The research which should have been done would show as to in which areas are these forces lacking and as to how these areas should be met according to the requirements of the forces. Similarly the policy tends to provide both these units with an adequate number of officers but do not lay down a plan to collaborate with the local authorities. To curb out crime it is necessary that the authorities have a strong hold over the local authorities who can inform the forces about the wrongs of the area. Similarly the corruption inside the forces itself is not laid down by the policy and the corruption (if there is any) might prevail even after the proposed initiatives of the plan. The force should not only be trained properly but should be given experience by keeping the trainees at different levels. They should be given expertise by the senior executives who have already gone through the situations of crime. A DNA database would not resolve all the issues of vehicle tracking and burglary, innovative measures such as closed circuit television systems should be installed to avoid burglaries to happen. The main aim of the strategy is to reduce burglary and property crime, however other crimes such as killing and knife crime is also common in the areas. The strategy should not be oriented towards certain crimes but it should target all the crimes which are happening in the areas. Similarly the assumption that if the manufacturers produce good quality products for housing purposes then the burglaries would lower down is wrong. As the burglars usually tend to track down the housing make and then commit the act. Similarly increasing the punishments for committing a crime is not a necessary step which would greatly lower the crime rates, but at times it can even provoke the punished one to commit even serious

Analysis of the Tourism Sector and Employment Rates
Analysis of the Tourism Sector and Employment Rates CHAPTER 3 STATISTICAL ANALYSIS As in the previous chapter there was the theoretical and empirical literature review of impact of tourism on employment. This chapter will focus on the statistical analysis of tourism sector and employment. 3.1 Overview of Tourism sector in Mauritius Tourism sector is considered as the main pillar in the Mauritian economy. Mauritius has been experiencing rapid growth during the last few decades. The tourism sector is supervised by theMinistry of Tourism and Leisure, theMauritius Tourism Promotion Authority(MTPA) promotes Mauritius locally and internationally. The Mauritian economy has been continually changing and growing during the last ten years. As the Mauritian economy was dominated by the agriculture of sugarcane and then by the textile industry, the Mauritian economy now positions itself towards flourishing sectors such as tourism. Tourist arrivals in Mauritius have been increasing drastically during the last few years. This increased in touristââ¬â¢s arrival has generated a lot of employment opportunities for the local people. Mauritius has experienced an increase of 3.7% of the number of tourist arrivals in the month of January 2014 compared to the month of January 2013 according to the statistic of Mauritius. The Tourism Authority is responsible for regulating, licensing and supervising the activities of tourists enterprises. The Association des Hà ´teliers et Restaurateurs de là ®le Maurice (AHRIM) is a non-profitable organization was set up in 1973 to represent and develop the interests of hotels and restaurants in Mauritius 3.2 Tourism Flows Mauritius was a late starter in competing for international tourist. In 1968 only 15,553 tourists visited Mauritius. The government provided initiatives for developing the tourism economy by improving the infrastructural road and by providing facilities at the international airport. In the first ten years of independence, there has been significant increase in tourist arrivals reaching 108,322 in 1978 and it reached 128,360 in year 1979. However, in year 1983 tourist arrival had decreased to 124,000. Since 1983 there has been a consistent increase in arrivals of tourist and 374,639 tourists were recorded in 1993. Tourism has benefited from an increasing proportion of credit from commercial banks during this period. Government has been consistently investing in the tourist industry by improving and expanding transport , harbour facilities, modernising the airport and the provision of education and training for hotel and catering industry. Tourists arrivals increased by 177,599 over the period 1994 to 1999 from 400,526 to 578,085. Thus from year 2000 to year 2013 tourist arrivals has been increasing year by year as Mauritius has been able to compete with its competitors and is becoming the dynamic industry for Mauritius 3.3 Trend of tourism in Mauritius Trend in Mauritius tourism is considered as a flourishing industry in the island. There is no denying fact that tourist arrival in Mauritius has been increasing year by year as Mauritius is considered as a paradise island which attract numerous tourist in the island. figure 3.3 From figure 3.3 it can be noted that during the year 2010 till the year of 2013, there has been a continuous increased in tourist arrival in Mauritius. From the year 2013 till the month of February 2014, there has been a significant increase of 300,000 tourist arrival in the economy. The statistics from the beginning of the nine months in the year 2013 has recorded that there has been a decrease of 2.3 % in the arrival of tourists from European countries. However in the other hand, Mauritius has experienced an increased in its arrival of tourist from other countries such as Malaysia (48.9%), china (97.1%), Singapore (12.9%), Japan (3.3%), Hong Kong (16.6), Africa (2.9%) and Unite Arab Emirates (63.8%). Thus it can be deduced that there is an increase trend of tourist arrival in Mauritius. These figures clearly show the global tourism trend and most of the arrival of tourist in Mauritius was from the Asian market. The statistics estimated an increased in the tourist arrival in the year 2014 as Asian market seems to become a prominent market for Mauritius. The statistician of Mauritius predicted that the figure of increased tourist arrival will be around 1.03 million. The Mauritius statistics data revealed that particularly Asia and china seem to be dynamic tourism for the Mauritian economy. The Mauritius tourism promotion authority is promoting Mauritius abroad as a tourist destination by doing more and advertising campaigns and by participating in tourism fairs and it is making promotional expedition and activities in Mauritius and internationally. The government has expanded the SSR international airport so that it can accommodate more tourists so that tourism sector in Mauritius becomes a well recognised market in international level. Many countries consider tourism as an engine for future development offering diverse opportunities. Technological advances are making travel easier and increasing the number of people who are travelling annually to spend their holiday. For small and large enterprise, those searching for employment and communities wanting to promote their culture and tradition, tourism are an easy industry to enter. Table 3.3: percentage changed in tourist arrivals ( Source: CSO Mauritius) From the above table it can be deduced that Mauritius has experience a total increase of 2.9 % in year 2013 from the year 2012. It has received a significant increase of tourist arrival from China which is 100.7 %. Thus China is becoming a leading market for China. The government has increased the number of flights per week to china so that it can boost up the economy by receiving more tourists and this will generate economic growth in the country. In addition the government is also taking initiative to make Mauritius a platform for medical tourism. More and more tourists are coming to Mauritius for the medical purpose also. According to the Tourism Office of Mauritius, South Africa exceeded UK visitors in 2012 and 40,490 South Africans visited Mauritius in year 2013 in contrast with a total of tourists of 89,058 in 2012. Thus Africans are showing great interest towards Mauritius for holiday destination. The room occupancy rates in Mauritius experience an uneven trend during the review period. According to statistics of Mauritius the occupancy rate decreased from 68.0% in 2008 to 61.0% in 2009 as there was a decline in demand from European travellers due to the euro zone sovereign debt crisis. In year 2011 there was recovery as the occupancy rate raised to 65.0 %. However as there was an excessive increase in the supply of hotel rooms in 2012, the occupancy rate decreased again in year 2012 as it reached 62.0 %. According toStatistics Mauritius, total passenger arrivals to Mauritius in year 2011 were 1,294,387 and tourist arrivals for the year attained 964,642.In year 2012 emerging markets,Russian people andPeople from China, registered positive growths of 58.9% and 38.0% respectively. According to theBank of Mauritiusthe gross tourism receipts wasRs44 billion in 2012. The forecast number of tourist arrival for 2013 is 1 million that is there has been a continuous increase in the development of the tourist industry in Mauritius. 3.4 Table Actual Tourism receipt Source: BOM statistics Table shows that revenue of tourist has been increasing year after year. However in year 2009 it has experienced a decreased of 13.3% from tourism revenue. Despite the decreased of tourism revenue in 2009 it has continue to increase which shows that more tourists has been spending their money in Mauritius and there has been an increased in tourist arrivals in the economy. The tourism industry of Mauritius has acquired a high level of excellence and international fame. It has also generated a large supply of foreign currency along with the creation of employment in relation to the tourism industry. 3.4 Trend of employment in Mauritius Table 3.5 Employment rate (source c.s.o) From table 3.5 it can be noted that compared with the corresponding quarter of 2012, there has been an increase in the labour force (+13,300) with an increase in both employment (+13,100) and in unemployment (+200). Compared with the previous quarter, labour force showed an increase of 2,000 in year 2013 with an increase in employment (+4,400) and a decrease in unemployment (-2,400). Thus there has been a positive trend in the employment in Mauritius as more and more people are being employed. According to travel and tourism economic impact 2013 Travel Tourism (Mauritius) created 69,500 employment directly in 2012 (12.1% of total employment) and this is forecast to increase by 2.2% in 2013 to 71,000 (12.2% of total employment). This includes employment by hotels, travel agents, airlines and other passenger transportation services. It also includes, for example, the activities of the restaurant and leisure industries directly supported by tourists. By the year 2023, Travel Tourism will account for 95,000 jobs directly, an increase of 2.9% over the next decades. This shows that there is a continuous increase of employment trend in the tourism sector for the future of Mauritius. Table 3.6 shows the number of people employed for the period of 2000 to 2013 in the tourism industry. It can be noted that there has been a continuous increase in total employment in the tourism sector from year 2000 to year 2013. That is more and more people are being employed in the tourism sector during the last decades. Thus tourism sector is becoming a promising industry as it is generating numerous employments in the country which is beneficial for the economy of Mauritius. In 2012, the total workforce in hotels and restaurants represented 40000 workers that is, it represented a total of 7% workforce. The labour force is known for its high level of customer care. About 7500 unemployed people have got work experience in hotel and restaurant sector. Thus the labour force is increasing significantly. Moreover, the Mauritian tourist industry is no longer an absorber of low skilled labour. Government has taken necessary initiative to intensify the level of training and education of workers who were already working in the industry and also for potential workers who are seeking job in the tourism sector. Mauritius has a number of high level training institutions, both public and private, offering both formal and on the job placement in the hotels for operational, supervisory and managerial personnel. Some are specialised technical and vocational training institutions and others are universities. Numerous institutes in Mauritius are providing courses of professional standards for the tourism study as Vatel institute which has recently been set up in Mauritius. At present, we have a well trained and well educated labour force in the tourist industry. As a conclusion it can be noted that there has been a continuous increase in the trend of tourism and employment. Tourism is creating more and more employment both directly and indirectly in the Mauritian economy. Mauritius has become a tourist destination for many countries thus the number of tourist arrival is increasing significantly. It is generating more and more employment in the country which is boosting the economy. Government are taking initiatives to promote the tourism sector as this sector is creating economic growth.

The Enormous Lie Exposed in The Enormous Radio :: Enormous Radio
The Enormous Lie Exposed in The Enormous Radio John Cheeverââ¬â¢s "The Enormous Radio" begins with the Westcotts appearing like the perfect "all-American" family. Cheever describes them as "the kind of people who seem to strike that satisfactory average of income, endeavor, and respectability" (Cheever 817). What is ironic about this story is the Westcotts are far from being the "perfect family," and the community they try to conform to is just as flawed as the Westcotts themselves. A way the Westcotts try to conform to their society is by keeping secret the fact that they listen to the radio and attend musical events. This is because these activities were not something members of their community did, much less talked about. The reader knows this because Cheever says the "Westcotts differed from their friends, their classmates, and their neighbors only in an interest in music. They went to a great many concerts although they never mentioned this to anyone" (817). A particular instance that shows the Westcotts arenââ¬â¢t the "perfect family" and the society they try to conform to is just as imperfect, is the fight between the Osborns. This shows the Westcottsââ¬â¢ community is flawed because Mr. Osborn is overheard being an abusive husband. Irene tells Jim: "Mr. Osbornââ¬â¢s beating his wife! Theyââ¬â¢ve been quarreling, and now heââ¬â¢s hitting her" (822). This incident also causes the Westcotts to question the "perfection" of their own marriage, and Jim and Irene end up having a disagreement about dishonesty. And it is widely accepted that dishonesty and physical abuse are not qualities of a "perfect" marriage. Another way it is shown that the Westcotts are not flawless is when Jim makes his enraged speech to Irene. This speech entails how heââ¬â¢s "sick" of her addiction to the radio and disgusted about her stealing jewelry and money from her sister and about the nonchalant manner in which she went to have an abortion (824). Even her coat is symbolic in showing the true nature of the Westcotts. Ireneââ¬â¢s coat was "of fitch skins, dyed to resemble mink" (817). The fact that the coat was dyed to resemble something of higher status than it really was can be used as a metaphor to describe the Westcottsââ¬â¢ nature: they were one way when presenting themselves to society (high class and socially conscientious, like the coat and the Westcottsââ¬â¢ marriage both appeared), and another way when they were in the privacy of their own home (not well made, like the coat and how their marriage really was).
